Then and Than

Then and Than can be easily separated.
You can do it by looking at the two words.  One has an e and one has an a.
You will need a better tool to tell their meanings apart.

It is good to remember "Then a hen....."
This silly saying will let you know the word then belongs with stories.  "Then a hen..." could begin quite a funny story.  "Then a hen..."  also leaves you with only one word "THAN".

It is very interesting that as we compare the two words THAN is the word used to compare items.
"My brother is taller than I am."  "My sister's cartwheel is straighter than my cartwheel."

THAN is a comparing word in Math Story Problems too!  It usually means you are subtracting.
How many more sunny days than rainy days are in the month of April?
